Litter Pick – Play Equipment – Waterbeach New Town – Mobile Warden – Highways and Speeding – Waterbeach Barracks – Bees – Amey Energy from Waste Plant Appeal
Litter Pick – There was a litter pick carried out on 10 May. Thank you to everyone who came to help.
Play Equipment – The Parish Council have agreed to get a see-saw for the Children’s Play area.
Waterbeach New Town : Urban & Civic Outline Planning Application for up to 6500 homes – Landbeach PC attended the South Cambs District Council Planning meeting where this was considered and made a representation reiterating our concerns about the proposed Key Phase I transport proposals (as discussed at the Annual Parish Meeting). The SCDC Planning committee has approved the application and we will continue to monitor and liaise to try and get the best outcome for the village
Mobile Warden – The mobile warden has time/space for just 2 more people on the scheme at present. If anyone is interested in hearing more about it please contact the warden, Diane (07977 219403), directly. This will be in total confidence.
The white lines at the junctions of High Street/Green End and the Cottenham Road and the ‘SLOW’ markings around the Church should be programmed in soon.
Waterbeach Barracks – Waterbeach Community Forum – Forums are scheduled for 10 July and 9 October 2019.
Bees – It has been reported that there are a lot of bees around Abrahams Close and some residents have been concerned about yellow poo spots on their cars and washing. The Parish Council has spoken to South Cambs District Council about this. It was confirmed that, even though these issues can be an inconvenience, they are not considered a Statutory Nuisance. SCDC suggest contacting the Cambridgeshire Beekeepers Association if further advice is required.
Amey Energy from Waste Plant Appeal - the Parish Council is submitting its objections to the proposed Energy from Waste proposal based on the environmental reasons given at the first application, together with subsequent developments concerning information on carbon and other emissions, recycling rates and traffic issues.
