Mobile Warden Scheme - If anyone is interested in hearing more about joining this scheme, please contact Warden (07977219403) for further information. This will be in total confidence.

MVAS – Mobile Vehicle Activated Signs - The road from Landbeach to Cottenham was closed week beginning 21 October for resurfacing and this has been carried out. The Parish Council suggested installing the MVAS Camera at the entrance of the village at Green End. This would show the level of traffic coming through the village from Cottenham. The information obtained on traffic level would help particularly in dealing with the proposal for the Waterbeach New Town transport infrastructure.

Amey Energy from Waste Plant Appeal - The Planning Inspectorate will start the hearing of this appeal on 5 November 2019. The Parish Council have submitted more comments in relation to this.

Recycling - Please recycle, reuse and reduce – that is the motto. Please see page 20 of the South Cambridgeshire Magazine Autumn 2019.

Shed Burglaries - There have been a series of shed burglaries between 29 September and 2 October 2019. Five sheds in Mill Road, Impington and four sheds in Waterbeach Road, Landbeach were broken into and tools stolen.

How to secure your shed and prevent break-ins

Choose your location carefully:

Anchor the Shed - Replace the Door Hinge - Improve the lock - Obscure windows - Fit an alarm - Put tools away at night - Use a site box for smaller items - Lock large items together - Mark your belongings

If all of the above precautions are in place then the likelihood of a burglar stealing your belongings is really quite slim. However, should the unthinkable happen, you can improve the chances of being reunited with your possessions by marking them with a security system. This could be something as simple as a UV pen, or a number of more advanced marking systems. Be sure to register your items with immobilise.com, which will help the police to reunite you with your stolen belongings.

If you are interested in purchasing security products for your home and garden please email scambscops@cambs.pnn.police.uk.
