The county council is back with its proposal to dual the A10 from Ely to Milton. As in the past, multiple routes are being considered, not all of which will be popular with Landbeach residents.

Start with the introductory "A10" web page. From there you can go to the virtual exhibition. Download the PDFs on the exhibition table to see the routes in detail.

Additionally you can also send your comments to the Parish Council (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) to help us form our response, but you will need to fill in the survey so the local authority know.

The survey needs to be completed by 14 July and the next Parish Council meeting is on 6 July at 7.30 p.m., through Zoom.

Survey options

Here's a summary of my response to the seven options. Your opinion may differ!

A. Too close to Landbeach. Will destroy the village.

B. Same as A.

C. Same as A.

D. Farther from Landbeach so slightly better for the village, but on virgin land so more environmentally damaging. Best option for motorists. If you are going for a completely new route, why not build a new junction with the A14 further west and avoid the Milton interchange bottleneck?

E. Minimal new land use. Minimal damage to villages. All dual, so considerable benefit to traffic. Least environmentally damaging. Leaves no route for local and non-motorised traffic so where would that go?

F. Similar to E but with reduced benefits.

G. Minimal improvement.
