Harry J Hatton inscription

Harry J Hatton was killed in action on 20th September 1914.

You can see how we remembered Harry on the front page of What's On in Landbeach for September 2014.

Harry has no known grave, but his name is on on the Memorial to the Missing of the Marne at La Ferté sous Jouarre, to the east of Paris.

Harry J Hatton flowersOn Remembrance Sunday 2015, a wreath was laid for Harry during the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial. The wreath, generously supplied by the Royal British Legion, was laid by Bill Dixon. Here's a photo of Harry's wreath.

It was then taken to France, along with the 1915 wreaths (see details), and laid at the Memorial to the Missing of the Marne. Read about this expedition in "1914-1915 wreath-laying expedition".

Why wasn't this done a year earlier, on Remembrance Sunday 2014? Because the idea did not surface until early 2015. Sorry!
